Nidhivan Temple Full of Mysteries

Nidhivan Temple Full of Mysteries

Vrindavan is a place of Radha Krishna. It is simple and peaceful, yet full of mystery. Nidhivan is one of the oldest temples, which has its own mystery.

Many stories are associated with this temple, but some consider them myths, while locals believe that they are true stories.

Nidhivan is a place where the idol of Lord Bankey Bihari was discovered.

The Mysteries of Nidhivan, Vrindavan

Rang Mahal is a place inside Nidhivan where the priest keeps toothbrushes, ladoos, pan leaves, bangles, sarees and some water as well as an organized bed. After the evening aarti they close the door and lock it properly, but every morning they find a disorderly bed half eaten by pan and laddu, and an empty glass of water which they believe is drunk by Shri Krishna and Radha. They found a bed in a position where someone had taken a nap.

The trees of Nidhivan are very unusual compared to other trees; they have a very different shape and grow downward instead of upward. The locals say that these trees turn into gopis at night to make rasleela with Shri Krishna and Radha.

After the evening aarti, no one is allowed in the temple, neither monkeys nor humans. People believe that if someone is in the temple at night and sees the Raslseela, the next day he will not be able to tell what happened during the night, whether he went deaf, blind, crazy, etc.

When you enter the temple, you will see monkey statues at the gate. The guide there says that during the rasleela at night these monkeys turn into real monkeys and in the morning they return to their normal state (statue).
